I just saw this movie for the very first time when I got the DVD of it along with "X The Unknown". A superbly eerie film, owing at least as much to Gothic fiction as SF. It was the first SF movie made by what would become Hammer, and in that respect was a portent of things to come.

I saw this movie decades ago.
Wouldn't it take Terawatts of power to create a few pounds of matter?
I suppose it could have a supply of all the elements.
(Dang! I have to replace the phosphorus cartridge again!)
That method would make duplicating gold uneconomical!
