The Foundation Trilogy heads for the screen

Isaac Asimov's Foundation Trilogy heads for the big screen with screenwriter Dante Harper and director Roland Emmerich.

Will Smith is tipped to play Hari Seldon.  This last bit is a joke.  I hope. Please let this be a joke.  Please.

  1. This looks to be a no win situation. If they stay close to the source material, they'll get a 5 hour snooze-fest with LOTS of dialog and no on-screen action. If they try to make a modern movie out of it, they'll get the Star Wars prequels. The books are a great read if you are looking for "Golden Age" (as in John W. Campbell) science fiction, but it really is un-filmable.
